Rahway Man Sexually Assaulted Woman In Park: Police
Keon Hagans, a 44-year-old Rahway man was arrested and charged with sexual assault on Wednesday, Oct.4 , Union County police announced. On Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 2:50 p.m., Union County police responded to the Squires Island section of Rahway Park on River Park and found a woman who said she had been touched inappropriately by Hagans while walking through the park, officers said. Hagans was arrested at his residence and was placed in the Union County Jail, where he remains pending a court proceeding, police said.

PD: Man Jumps In Rahway River After Leading Union County Chase In Stolen Car
A Newark man who led officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle and then tried running on foot through a Union County park was found hiding in the Rahway River, authorities said. A Kenilworth officer was conducting a radar detail near Boulevard and Wilshire Drive when he spotted a 2005 Ford Econoline van speeding around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, local police said. Union County Police Officer Injured Escorting Motorcyclists On 50-Mile Charity Ride
A Union County police sergeant was injured while escorting motorcyclists on a 50-mile charity ride for a local cancer foundation on Sunday, county officials said. The county officer collided with a participant in Clark during the Jason’s Friends Foundation ride, NJ.com reports, citing county spokesman Sebastian D'Elia. The crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Lake Avenue, at the Cellar Avenue intersection, according to initial reports. The officer and participant were treated at the hospital for non life-threatening injuries, D'Elia said.

: Suspect In Deadly Elizabeth Shooting Arrested
UPDATE: The prosecutor's office said Wednesday a man has been arrested in connection with this case. Read more here. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a shooting that took the life of an Elizabeth man Tuesday morning. Police were sent to the Mravlag Manor housing complex to investigate reports of gunfire around 2:30 a.m. They found Alfonso James, 27, who had been shot.
