Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Elizabeth: PD A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth on the afternoon of Monday, March 18, authorities said. The man was hit by the car at the intersection of Spring Street and North Avenue, a spokeswoman for the city said. He was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The victim's age and identity have not been released.

Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle Crossing Elizabeth Highway: Authorities A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a highway in Elizabeth on the early morning of Tuesday, Nov. 7, authorities said. The pedestrian was crossing the 1000 block of Spring Street across the Spring Lane Motel, Ruby Contreras, the public information officer for the City of Elizabeth said. Pedestrians are prohibited from crossing the highway, Contreras said. The driver remained on the scene and police determined no charges would be filed, Contreras said.

Shooting Shuts Wawa In Elizabeth (Photos) A Wawa store in Elizabeth was closed for a shooting investigation Saturday, April 22. A man was shot in the knee after a fight broke out inside of the Spring Street store around 4:45 a.m., Elizabeth police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said. He was uncooperative but stable at University Hospital, Contreras said. There were no other victims. The suspect fled and store was closed for investigation.

Man Hospitalized In Elizabeth Shooting A man was hospitalized after a shooting in Elizabeth, authorities said. Elizabeth police responded to a report of gunfire on the 400 block of Spring Street just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Information Officer Kelly Martins told Daily Voice. The victim was shot in the side and taken to University Hospital in Newark where he remained in stable condition, Martins said. No other details were immediately released. Update: Teen On Scooter Struck And Killed By Truck In Elizabeth A teen riding a scooter was hit by a truck in Elizabeth Wednesday night, according to witnesses and initial reports.  The 16-year-old was struck by a tow truck at Spring Street and Elizabeth Avenue around 8 p.m. and later died, officials said.
