NJ Turnpike Crash A box truck crash on the New Jersey Turnpike held up traffic Tuesday afternoon, March 11. An Isuzu box truck parked on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes was rear-ended by a Tesla passenger vehicle, also heading north, which had lost control around 1:15 p.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. It happened at milepost 109.7 in Kearny Township. Minor injuries were reported and both drivers were taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available.

Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene.  Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.

The NJDOT worker was mowing the grass when the remains were found near the eastbound lanes on the right shoulder in the grass at milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy shortly after 12:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com. The remains were identified as those of a Black male, Marchan said. The cause of death is unknown. The incident is under investigation. Additional details were not released.
