Pair Nabbed In Essex County Armed Robberies Had Lengthy Rap Sheets: Police Two men with lengthy arrest records have been arrested in connection with two armed robberies -- one in Livingston and another in West Orange, local police said. Shyhiem Clark, 24, of Newark, and Tyrese Thompson, 22, of Elizabeth, were charged in connection with the Sept. 27 incident at a Mount Pleasant Avenue store, according to police in West Orange. The two are believed to be linked to a second robbery in Livingston on Oct. 4, authorities said. Either Clark or Thompson held the cashier at gunpoint while the other removed money from the register, police said. Both fled through …

Authorities ID Woman Killed In West Orange Hit-Run Crash A 67-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash last month in Essex County. Maria F. Pastuizaca-Yauri was struck at the intersection of Brennan Drive and Mount Pleasant Avenue around 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 30, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and West Orange Police Chief James Abbott said. She was transported to University Hospital by ambulance and subsequently pronounced at 8:15 p.m. The investigation is active and ongoing. The ticket was sold at Quick Shop Food on Mount Pleasant Avenue in West Orange.
