A ticket sold in Jersey City matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball in the drawing held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, winning $50,000. The ticket sold at Pastore Wine and Liquor on Montgomery Street. The winning numbers were: 02, 15, 27, 29, and 39. The Power Ball number was 20.

Four Firefighters Injured In Four-Alarm Jersey City Fire (Update) Four firefighters were injured after a four-alarm blaze broke out in a vacant building in Jersey City on Tuesday, May 30, authorities said. The fire began at 234 Montgomery St. before spreading to 236 Montgomery St., Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.  The firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries when stairs collapsed and were all taken to a local hospital, Scalcione said. Body Found On 440 ID'd As Missing Woman The body found on Route 440 on the Jersey City-Bayonne border on Wednesday, May 17, has been identified as Norelis Mendoza, who has been missing last week, authorities announced.
