Woman Struck, Killed By Speeding Car In Newark A 42-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car in Newark Tuesday, authorities said. Bessie R. Leake was struck by a speeding Infiniti Q50 that hit a parked car and then fled the scene, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. The driver was later apprehended. No charges have been filed. Boys, Aged 14 And 15, Charged In Newark Carjacking Teenagers who stole a car at gunpoint Monday morning were arrested after they entered a second carjacked vehicle in an attempt to escape police in Newark, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.  A man stopped his 2015 Infiniti Q50 shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Lafayette and Madison streets when one of the boys approached, posing as a panhandler.  The second boy entered the car on the passenger side and showed a gun, threatening to shoot.  He struck the driver with the weapon and the driver got out,  then the two boys drove off, accord…
