Man, 23, Found Hanging In Tree Of Family's Front Yard In New Jersey, Police Say
A New Jersey man was found hanging in the front yard of his family's home over the weekend, police said. Lakewood officers responding to a home on Cedar Street found the 23-year-old man hanging from a tree in the yard, Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said. Life-saving efforts were unwarranted and the man was pronounced dead. The investigation is considered closed.

2 Dead, Driver Seriously Injured In Route 1 Linden Crash
Two people were killed in a crash overnight on Route 1 in Linden, authorities said. A 2013 Infiniti Sedan was heading north when it struck a tractor-trailer turning left onto S. Stiles Street from the southbound lanes around 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, police said. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a second passenger were both taken to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries, where the second passenger died. Charges were upgraded for two people arrested in a hit-and-run crash after the victim died over the weekend, authorities in Hudson County said. Man Found Dead Inside Vehicle: Newark PD
A man was found dead inside a vehicle in Newark on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 21, authorities said. At 4:01 p.m., police responded to Jones Street near Springfield Avenue on a report of an unresponsive male inside a vehicle, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man was pronounced dead at 4:23 p.m., Fragé said. The man has not been publicly identified and foul play is not suspected, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Elderly Man Killed In West Orange House Fire: Police
A senior citizen was killed in a West Orange house fire on Tuesday morning, Dec. 12, police said. West Orange police and fire responded to 30 Park Drive South at 10:30 a.m. and reported heavy smoke and fire in the structure, police said. The victim, whose name has not been released, was removed from the residence and taken to Cooperman-Barnabas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead an hour later, police.
