Mauricio Garces, a 34-year-old Secaucus resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Sunday, July 2, Secaucus Police said. Garces has been a police officer in Union City since 2019. George Maztek, 29, had forced his way into a woman's County Avenue apartment, stole an item then fled around 2:40 p.m. June 3, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. During the incident, Maztek pushed the resident into a wall causing minor injuries to her hand and arm, police said.
