Hurley, who recently coached UConn to the 2023 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, is being honored in his hometown of Jersey City by Mayor Steven Fulop with the Key to the City on Tuesday, April 25. The ceremony will be held inside City Hall at 5 p.m. Before he got into coaching, Hurley played at St. Anthony's High School for his father, Bob Hurley, and later at Seton Hall University. A GoFundMe campaign launched in memory of the 40-year-old city resident killed in a motorcycle crash last week remembers him as a doting dad to his son, Andrew. More than $62,200 had been raised on that campaign as of Monday morning.
