More than a dozen people were displaced in a Bayonne fire Friday, authorities said.
City firefighters responded to 9 New St., for a basement blaze just before 8:50 a.m., Bayonne Fire Chief Keith Weave said.
The fire was knocked out in less than 30 minutes before it spread to an adjacent house, the chief said.
The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management Red Cross is working with the displaced residents.
