City officials have been working with NJ Transit to make railroad crossings smoother, Deputy Mayor David Sims said. The tracks near Fairmount Eats and B&W Bakery have already been repaired.

The one-way streets are undergoing a two-way conversion, starting with State Street on July 5, with work on Main Street to begin thereafter.  All work is expected to be complete by August 2018. The State Street conversion will occur north to south beginning at Passaic Street and ending at Essex Street. Delays and detours are expected.
