Crash Jams Parkway Near Toll Plaza In Saddle Brook
Slight delays were being reported along the Garden State Parkway in Saddle Brook Sunday morning, July 21. A crash was reported by the NJDOT just before 11 a.m. in the northbound lanes, south of the Bergen County toll plaza. One lane was closed. Traffic was slightly heavier than usual.

Details have been released in a crash that caused serious delays along the Garden State Parkway on one of the busiest travel times of the year. Morning rush hour traffic appeared to be moving smoothly on the Garden State Parkway after buckled pavement caused major delays in Toms River. A pavement heave was found on the southbound side near milepost 82.7, the parkway said on Twitter at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Emergency repairs forced the right lane to close, causing significant delays during a busy Fourth of July holiday travel week. Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said. A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Moonachie was hospitalized after he was ejected during a rear-end crash early Tuesday with a Tesla on Route 17, authorities said. The May 7 morning rush was well underway when the motorcyclist rammed the other vehicle from behind just south of the busy Franklin Avenue intersection around 7:30 a.m. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that didn't appear to be life-threatening, Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. Granite Spill Temporarily Closes Route 46 Bridge
A noontime mishap closed the Route 46 bridge over the Hackensack River on Monday. The delay was temporary after a truck carrying granite and quartz spilled most of its load on the 89-year-old span between Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park on March 13. A New Jersey Department of Transportation crew with a front-end loader and dump truck cleaned up the spill and the road was reopened. No injuries were reported.

One person died after becoming trapped in a car fire on Route 287 Thursday afternoon, state police confirmed.
