Man Struck By Rockland-To-Hoboken Train A man was hospitalized after he was struck by a commuter train Sunday night in Paterson. The Main Line #1732 train had left Suffern at 9:07 p.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 10:19 p.m. when it struck the man just west of the Paterson train station shortly before 10 p.m., NJ Transit’s Lisa Torbic said. Responders said they got the victim out from under the train and took him to nearby St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. None of the 16 people were injured and service wasn’t affected, Torbic said. NJ Transit police were investigating, she said.

Click here for more.  A Dover-bound NJ Transit train struck and killed a person in South Orange Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the agency said.  Morris & Essex 6225, which left Penn Station New York shortly before noon, struck the person, described only as a female trespasser, at around 12:30 p.m. at Mountain Station. Engineer At Controls Of Train In Deadly Hoboken Crash Gets His Job Back A train engineer whose undiagnosed sleep apnea was determined to be a factor in a crash at Hoboken Terminal three years ago that killed one and injured more than 100 others will once again work for NJ Transit, an arbitrator ruled late last month.  Thomas Gallagher was at the controls Sept. 29, 2016, when the train, travelling at twice the speed limit of about 10 mph, crashed through a barrier and hit the station.
