UPDATE: A 21-year-old driver who rolled his Charger on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights was hospitalized and given a summons, authorities said. Northbound Route 17 was closed from Moonachie Avenue for about two hours after the Dodge and a BMW M34 collided just south of Franklin Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, Police Lt. A driver refused medical attention for a hand injury following a fiery crash that jammed a busy stretch of Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. A Dodge Neon caught fire after colliding with a Toyota Camry at the jughandle in front of the White Castle shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 6. Hackensack firefighters caught two children tossed to them by their parents during an overnight apartment building blaze. The city's bravest arrived at the four-story brick building on Prospect Avenue shortly after 12:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, to find several residents on the fire escapes trying to flee the second-floor blaze. Two drivers were hospitalized following a crash that rolled an SUV in Hasbrouck Heights. A Ford Focus driven by a 37-year-old borough resident was heading east on Springfield Avenue when it was struck by a Subaru Forester going south on Summit Street shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Police Captain Joseph Rinke said. Concerns were raised over possible propane tanks igniting, but borough firefighters doused the blaze in minutes. Four victims including a motorcyclist were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 46 in Teterboro late Tuesday.
