Man Falls 14 Feet Down Butler Elevator Shaft Helping Person With Hand Stuck In Doors
A 59-year-old man remained in critical but stable condition Monday after falling through an elevator shaft in a Butler building while helping a person who had their hands stuck in the doors, authorities said. The man fell through a shaft at 10 Park Place after trying to open the elevator door for a person who had their hand stuck around 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Butler police Lt. Michael Moeller said. FedEx Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint In Linden
A FedEx truck involved in a collision in Linden Monday was taken at gunpoint, police said. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Stiles Street near Valley Road. The FedEx driver told police that someone got out of the other vehicle, pulled a gun on the driver and demanded the keys to the truck. Both vehicles were last seen heading towards Raritan Road. A 16-year-old was taken into custody in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a Hackensack diner deliveryman, authorities said. On Oct. 25 just before midnight, a Chit Chat Diner deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint just after getting back into his car on Park Street, Hackensack Police Capt. Frank Aquila said. A driver got out unharmed after a school bus went up in flames Wednesday afternoon near the Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, authorities said. The Jersey Kids Transportation Inc. bus driver was scheduled to collect students at dismissal when the engine caught fire around 2:30 p.m. on Reinhardt Road, said Bill Maer of the county sheriff's office.
