Tropical Hut Filipino Restaurant Replacing Maywood Subway Sandwich Shop
A restaurant serving authentic Filipino cuisine will be replacing the shuttered Subway sandwich shop in Maywood.
Tropical Hut, which mainly offers catering options, is expected to open sometime this summer on W. Pleasant Avenue, its website says.
Pilippine-born owner, Chef Leo, has been known to combine many flavoring and curing techniques, including the creative use of marinades, flavored brines and natural wood smoking, the Tropical Hut website says.
The restaurant already has several locations in Parsippany, Hackensack, Old Bridge, Somerset and Spring Valley, N.Y.
