They also arrested his sister after they said she interfered with her brother's arrest.

Christian Pacas "began to act irrationally during a family argument" just after 8 a.m., Capt. Patrick Coffey said.Pacas then left the Holt Street house and got into a stolen black Honda CR-V, then "fired one shot from a handgun into the air and sped off," Coffey said.

His sister, 21-year-old Katherine Pacas, followed him in her car, then picked her brother up after he crashed the stolen vehicle into two parked cars in the area of Washington Avenue and Lafayette Street, the captain said.

Police descended on the house and arrested Pacas after a brief standoff.

They also took Katherine Pacas into custody on obstruction charges.

Police recovered a shell casing from the street in front of the house, the captain said.

Detectives were awaiting a warrant from a judge to search for the gun, he said.
