Patrolman Brian Kropp approached 34-year-old David W. Eckman of Brookeland, Texas, outside the Congress Inn Motel after seeing him trying to conceal something in his 2002 Lexus yesterday afternoon, Capt. Robert Kaiser told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.

Eckman was taken into custody with the help of the Bergen County Police K9 unit, Kaiser said. The five kilos of drugs were seized and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration notified.

He was being held on $500,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

(NOTE: CLIFFVIEW PILOT
last night incorrectly reported the total as 2.2 pounds. Each brick weighed that much.)
