River Vale man charged with dumping helpless Hillsdale heroin user behind Lodi shopping center

ANOTHER CVP EXCLUSIVE: A 26-year-old River Vale man was being held on $20,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail after Lodi police arrested him last night on charges of abandoning an incapacitated 19-year-old Hillsdale heroin addict behind a shopping center.

A passerby found the woman in the strip mall parking lot off Essex Street and called police just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Capt. Donald Scorzetti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

EMTs responded and took her to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.

River Vale police picked up Joseph Ciaccio at his Westwood Avenue home yesterday afternoon and turned him over to Lodi police.

He was charged with endangering a helpless or injured person.
