Ridgewood teen struck by SUV hospitalized

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Ridgewood teenager sustained a serious leg injury after being struck by a BMW SUV near the intersection of South Van Dien Avenue and Hanks Avenue this afternoon.

The girl was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center by members of the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Also responding to the scene to provide medical assistance were personnel from Ridgewood Fire Department’s Engine Company #35 and a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward, who was at the scene, said the incident was being investigated.

The BMW was driven from the scene by its owner, who wasn’t issued any summonses.
