"There were no firearm rounds or shell casings or other evidence of shots fired,"" the authority's Joseph Pentangelo. "There are no injuries."

Two terminals were evacuated as a precaution, he said.

A second call of shots fired forced the Port Authority to evacuate Terminal 1 at 10:15 p.m., about an hour and 15 minutes after they cleared Terminal 8, Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

The Van Wyck Expressway near the airport also was briefly shut down.
