Paramus police probe party that left 2 stabbed

Paramus police are sorting out the details of a pre-dawn stabbing at a house party that left a man and woman stabbed. Ridgewood police took the call of a man with a “hole in his stomach” at 4:35 a.m. and immediately forwarded it to their counterparts, Paramus Police Chief Christopher Brock said.

Several men in their 20s got into a brawl on Burlington Road, leading to the stabbings the chief said.

A woman took the man stabbed to Hackensack University Medical Center before police got there, Brock said. He is under police guard — with injuries that are considered serious but not life-threatening injuries — and has been interviewed by detectives, the chief said.

The woman was taken to HUMC for treatment and then brought to headquarters for questioning, he said.

Detectives are determining attendees to determine who they have yet to interview from among those who left the party before the call came in.
