Jeffrey Mansilla left the Wet Gentleman’s Club in Belleville with a customer from the club and an acquaintance who already was with him around 2 a.m. last Thursday, State Police said.

A short time later, Mansilla was hit with one of three shots fired through the driver’s side door of his GMC Yukon on the eastbound highway near milepost 63. The bullet passed through him, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the case told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Mansilla then pulled to the shoulder and switched seats with the acquaintance, who drove him to Hackensack University Medical Center. He died there later.

Another source said police found blood on the shoulder of Route 80 in Saddle Brook.

Anyone with information was asked to call NJSP Major Crime Unit Detective Sgt. Frank Robina: (973) 785-9419.
