The girl, who told police she was approached on Orchard Place around noon, said she declined the offer and he walked away without incident.
She described him as white, 50 – 60 years old, with a slim build and short gray hair.
The girl said he was wearing a blue shirt with white stripes, a black tie and dark pants. He was carrying a matching jacket over his shoulder, she told police.
An investigation was continuing.
