A 2004 Saab driven by a Montvale man struck the boy on Broadway near Knickerbocker Avenue around 8:30 Tuesday night, Police Chief Chip Stalter said.
A trio of officers who rushed to the scene — Chris Donaldson, Liz Zimmerman, and Dave Sayers — gave the boy first aid until emergency medical workers from Hackensack University Medical Center and Westwood EMS arrived, Stalter said.
“No criminality or driver impairment contributed to this crash,” the chief said. However, he noted, an investigation is continuing.
