Hackensack Police Rescue Middle-Age OD Victims With Narcan

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack police rescued two overdosing drug users -- one 51 and the other 47 -- in separate Narcan incidents.

Officers administered the anti-opiate antidote to the younger man on Aug. 23 and the older man this past Sunday, Capt. Patrick Coffey said.

Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.

Coffey reminded the public of a "Project Medicine Drop" box at headquarters for citizens to toss out unused or expired prescriptions anonymously, no questions asked, any time of day.
