Now unemployed, 32-year-old Jonathan Malave was working as a cable service technician when he “engaged in inappropriate sexual activity” with the Ridgefield Park woman in her home in July 2014 and with the Fairview woman in her home a month later, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said following his arrest in November.
“The second victim recently contacted the Fairview Police Department and reported to them what had occurred,” the prosecutor said at the time.
An 11-count indictment returned yesterday charges Malave with aggravated sexual assault through “attempted penile/vaginal penetration” on both women, along with touching one’s vagina and the other’s buttocks and both’s breasts.
He’s also charged with burglary and assault, and with threatening the arresting officers from Fairview police and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office when they showed up at his Towaco home to arrest him on Nov. 19.
Malave remained held in the Bergen County Jail today on $200,000 bail, down from an original $250,000.
Records show he was working as a cable repair subcontractor three years ago when a 32-year-old Stony Point woman told police he sexually assaulted her on a call — first kissing and then reaching down and touching her.
