Elizabeth Wescott Slee, who most recently worked at Hackensack University Medical Center, was promptly taken into custody on a fugitive warrant after reporting to the county probation office on Monday, Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino confirmed this morning.

Slee, of Bloomingdale, was there in connection with charges filed against her earlier this year of taking $10,000 from Barr Laboratories on Chestnut Ridge Road in Woodcliff Lake, where she was a payroll coordinator for 7½ years before leaving in March 2010.

Her next job — also in payroll — was at the Rockland office of MC2, a company that designs and produces marketing exhibits for retailing events, in the Ramapo village of Chestnut Ridge.

Ramapo police and Rockland investigators arrested Slee in March 2012 for allegedly embezzing $20,000 from that company by manipulating payroll records of current and former employees.

She posted $200,000 bond but never showed up for court in New City, and a warrant was issued.
