Bergen Detectives Bust Used Car Lot Owners With 3½ Pounds Heroin, $10G Cash

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force busted two out-of-county used car lot owners with 3½ pounds of heroin and $10,025 in accused drug proceeds following an investigation that began in Ridgefield Park.

Yair Gutierrez, 43, of Linden and Alexander Garcia, 44, of Westfield were ordered held without bail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on drug charges.

After a two-month investigation, detectives obtained search warrants for Emporium Auto Sales in Elizabeth, which is owned by both men, as well as for Guiterrez’s 2005 Chey Equinox, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Along with the heroin and cash, they found a kilogram press machine, digital scales and kilogram wrappers.
