The BCPD has advised other law enforcement agencies to use caution if they find the 30-something suspect, who they said fled in another vehicle and left a BMW — with the spent shells — behind.

Meanwhile, emergency workers had to free the driver of an SUV involved in the crash, which occurred around 4:40 this afternoon on Route 4 at Grand Avenue (see map).

He “had complaints of pain and was later transported to Hackensack University Medical Center,” Lt. James Mullin told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“The BMW’s driver then fled on foot and got into another vehicle that pulled over and picked him up,” Mullin said.

Although the BMW’s registered owner is from Hoboken, the driver who fled “does not match the registered owners description,” the lieutenant told CLIFFVIEW PILOT, adding that the vehicle wasn’t reported stolen.
