Presiding Superior Court Judge Susan J. Steele continued bail at $750,000 for Yoseop Choi, 38, on charges of aggravated assault and child endangerment.

The baby, meanwhile, remained in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital in New York City with a head injury and a broken rib, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) notified Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit after the boy was hospitalized, the prosecutor said.

“Due to the severity of his injuries and the critical nature of his condition, the investigation was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit,” he said.

Detectives from the prosecutor’s office and Fort Lee police arrested Choi after determining the boy was beaten in his Linwood Avenue apartment, Molinelli said.

Choi was represented by defense attorney Anthony J. Iacullo. He doesn’t qualify for a public defender, the judge noted.
