Carmine Licursi, 91, Of Rochelle Park

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Carmine Licursi, of Rochelle Park, died Wednesday, Nov. 16. He was 91.

Before retiring, he worked as the director of production services at Singer Kearfott in Little Falls for 38 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who served our country proudly during World War II and was awarded the French Legion of Honor, was a recipient of the Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, was awarded the Bronze Star and received the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal with Cluster. After his service to his country, Licursi went on to graduate from Muhlenberg College, where he is a member of the Hall of Fame for baseball. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, an avid golfer and New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his children, Lauren Licursi and Donna Craig and her husband George; and sister, Maria Passero.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 12 Terrace Ave., Rochelle Park. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Military Order of the Purple Heart, 5413-A, B & C Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151-3960.
