Raekwon King, 25, and Karnel Miller-Wright, 22, were charged in connection with four robberies in Fort Lee, Englewood, Hackensack, and Paramus between August and October 2024, Musella said.

King and Miller-Wright allegedly targeted residents and customers arriving home or pumping gas, threatening them with firearms and stealing luxury watches, wallets, and cash before fleeing in getaway cars, authorities said.

The first robbery happened around 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at a high-rise apartment building on Park Avenue in Fort Lee. Two masked men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of jewelry and cash, fleeing in a silver Mercedes-Benz, police said.

A month later, on Sept. 5 at 7:15 p.m., Englewood police responded to another robbery — this time at a gas station on Route 4. The victim was held at gunpoint and forced to hand over his Rolex and money, police said.

On Sept. 12, a Hackensack resident was ambushed in a parking garage after returning home from New York City. Though the suspect broke the victim’s driver-side window, the victim managed to escape. The suspect fled in a white Mercedes-Benz, police said.

Then, on Oct. 7 around 7:11 p.m., a man returning home to Burnett Place in Paramus was confronted by a masked suspect with a gun. He screamed for help, prompting the suspect to run off to a getaway vehicle, officials said.

Joint investigations by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and local departments led to the identification of King and Miller-Wright as the suspects.

Miller-Wright was arrested in the Bronx on Oct. 8, 2024, and extradited to Bergen County nine days later. He remains jailed.

King was found at a Bronx motel on Oct. 14, 2024. He tried to escape by jumping out a window but was captured after a brief foot chase and sent to Rikers Island, pending extradition.

On March 25, a Bergen County Grand Jury indicted both men on dozens of charges, including three counts each of first-degree armed robbery, multiple counts of conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.

Prosecutor Musella thanked the Englewood, Fort Lee, Hackensack, and Paramus Police Departments, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the NYPD for their assistance. Both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
