77-Year-Old SUV Driver Crashes Into Sedan Off Route 80, 1 Hospitalized In Hackensack

A collision off Route 80 in Hackensack involving two vehicles left one driver hospitalized with minor injuries Tuesday morning, Nov. 12, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m., when a 77-year-old woman from Ridgefield Park driving a Toyota SUV collided with a Kia sedan driven by a 35-year-old East Rutherford woman, according to Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antista.

The impact caused the Kia to strike a utility pole, and the driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No arrests or summonses have been issued at this time, Chief Antista said.
