NJ Man, 67, Drowns In Backyard Pool
A 67-year-old retiree from Wood-Ridge was in cardiac arrest when he was pulled from a backyard pool, family members said.
Dennis R. Haggerty was in the above-ground pool on Windsor Road when he suffered the attack shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, July 6, loved ones said.
A family member and a neighbor quickly got him out, they said.
CPR was conducted and a defibrillator used on Haggerty, who was later pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center, Wood-Ridge Police Capt. Joseph Biamonte said.
"Denny" Haggerty was described by many as kind, loving, gentle and generous.

Glassboro Woman Found With Bullets, Car Stolen In 2003 At NJ Motel
A woman driving a car stolen out of Newark was found with several handgun bullets inside of a Secaucus motel Monday morning, April 24, authorities said.
A Secaucus officer was patrolling near the Red Roof Inn on the Meadowlands Parkway around 7:35 a.m., when he "randomly" accessed the registration of an unoccupied Kia Forte that was parked, but running in the parking lot, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
The car had been stolen out of Newark in April 2003, and the driver — Doniesha Coar, 27 of Glassboro — was found inside the motel, Miller said.
