Driver Hospitalized After Pickup Crashes Into Tree Along Jersey Shore
A pickup driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree in Upper Township, officials said. The Marmora Volunteer Fire Company said firefighters and Upper Township paramedics responded to the crash on South Old Tuckahoe Road at around 6:55 a.m. on Monday, May 6. Emergency crews found a pickup that hit a tree with the driver stuck inside the truck. Seaville and Tuckahoe firefighters were also called to the scene to help with the trapped driver. The driver was freed from the pickup and brought to a hospital. No first responders were injured. The scene was cleared by around 7:30 a.m. …

School Bus Carrying Students Bursts Into Flames On Garden State Parkway
Ten students and their bus driver were uninjured when their school bus burst into flames on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May County Wednesday, April 17, firefighters said. Firefighters and EMS units were dispatched to mile marker 20.8 south in Upper Township around 2:30 where the bus had erupted in flames, according to Seaville Fire Rescue. Heavy flames were shooting out of the bus when responders arrived, and all 10 students and the bus driver had already safely exited. A Philadelphia brewery is opening up a new location on the Jersey Shore that will also offer beer fans a chance to play mini-golf. Meyers Brewing Company will open a sister location in Ocean View, the brewery said in a Facebook post on Saturday, Apr. 6. It will be called Meyers Lighthouse Brewing Company and is expected to open in May. The new brewery will be located on Route 9, about a quarter-mile north of the intersection with Sea Isle Boulevard. Cape May residents will get their final view of a once-towering coal-burning power plant when the smokestack of the former B.L. England power plant is imploded later this month.
