Memorial Services Set For Ex-South Jersey Football Star Killed In Christmas Eve Crash A 28-year-old Pleasantville man who died from injuries five days after a Christmas Eve crash will be remembered during memorial services on Thursday.  Donta Pollock was a star running back for Holy Spirit High School. He was remembered by his alma mater as “one of the best to ever wear the gold helmet," according to an Instagram post. Pollock was driving west on the Atlantic City Expressway in Pleasantville on Christmas Eve when he lost control at about 2:30 a.m., left the roadway and struck a guard rail. New York Kayaker Mourned After Death During Nor'easter Memorial services have been scheduled to honor the life of a Westchester County man who died after a powerful Nor'easter rolled in while he was kayaking on the Long Island Sound. Laurence Broderick, age 45, of Scarsdale, was reported overdue by his family on Tuesday, Oct. 26, after he left Hempstead en route to Mamamronek in his kayak at about 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, authorities reported.  He was found unresponsive by the US Coast Guard on Tuesday afternoon, and he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
