Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued In These NJ, PA Counties
The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings and warned of 60 mph winds across parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania Friday, June 14.
At 4:15 p.m., the NWS issued the warnings for Sussex and Warren counties in New Jersey, and Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton, in PA.
Newton, Washington, Jim Thorpe, Stroudsburg, Reading, Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, are also being warned of severe storms.
The warnings are in effect through 5 p.m.

PSE&G Worker Killed, Suspect Dead In Somerset County: Prosecutor
An employee at PSE&G was fatally shot before the suspect — a former worker — apparently died by suicide in Somerset County, authorities said.
Gary T. Curtis, 58, of Washington, is believed to have shot Russell D. Heller, 51, of Milford, around 7 a.m. at the company's headquarters on Weston Canal Road, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said.
Emergency Medical Personnel from an area Trauma Center responded to the scene where Heller was pronounced dead.

7-Eleven Inc. is looking to sell or lease 73 of its stores, 18 of which are in New Jersey.
NRC Realty & Capital Advisors LLC is helping with the process, having posted a list of all of the sites along with a bid deadline of Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Some of the stores are some of the 3,800 Speedway stores that 7-Eleven purchased in May 2021.

Warren County landscaper and devoted mom Rachel Ann Glester died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, August 13. She was 36.
Born in Phillipsburg, Rachel worked as a landscaper at ACF Landscape in Washington, her obituary says.
Rachel was passionate about spending time in nature and loved outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing, and walking her dogs, her memorial says.
Above all, Rachel embraced her role as a devoted mother to her son, Brandon, and daughter, Grace Brobst. She is also predeceased by a daughter, Connie Rose.

Crackdown Busts 6 With Illegal Weapons Last Weekend In Newark: Police
Six Newark residents were busted with illegal weapons over the weekend as part of a city crackdown that began last December.
Four of those arrests were in the South Ward and two were in the East Ward, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
The following men were arrested Saturday, April 2 in the South Ward, according to O'Hara:
Alfuquan A. McNair, 29, of Washington, NJ; Elijah Harden, 31, of East Orange; and a 17-year-old male from Irvington. Each suspect faces charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, among other charges.

Beloved father and NJ hotdog shop owner Vin Russo died Friday, Feb. 4 following a courageous and valiant battle with COVID-19.
Russo, who owns Joe’s Alpha Dogs at the Port Colden Mall in Washington with his wife, Frances, was admitted to the hospital with virus complications on Sunday, Jan. 9, according to a GoFundMe launched for the family.
By the following day, Russo, 59, was in the ICU preparing to be put on a ventilator while dealing with separate kidney issues.

Unconscious Warren County Man Slams Pickup Truck, Crashes Into Bagel Shop: Police
A Warren County driver passed out behind the wheel Tuesday morning before running a red light, hitting another vehicle, and crashing into a nearby bagel shop, authorities said.
Jeffrey Heymann, 62, was driving a 2006 Land Rover east on Route 57 in Hackettstown when he went unconscious and ran the red light at the Route 182 intersection around 4:45 a.m., local police said.
Heymann, of Washington, then hit Mansfield Township resident Michael Danza, 51, who was driving a 2016 Dodge Ram south on Route 182, police said.

Drug Bust: NJ Pair Had Over 800 Heroin, Crack Cocaine Bags, Suboxone In Traffic Stop, Cops Say
Police found hundreds of bags of heroin and crack cocaine after stopping a couple in Warren County earlier this month, authorities said.
Vincent Noel, 55, and Colleen Coghlan, 33, were pulled over for several violations on Feb. 16, Phillipsburg Police said.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up 700 bags of heroin and 129 bags of crack cocaine, as well as a quantity of Suboxone and various paraphernalia, police said.
Noel, of Phillipsburg, and Coghlan, of Washington, were arrested and charged with several narcotics offenses.

Staring Monday, Nov. 2., the following Motor Vehicle Commissions centers will be by appointment only:
Cherry Hill, Hazlet, Jersey City, Lakewood, Manahawkin, Medford, Somerville, Springfield, Turnersville and Wallington. No walk-in customers will be accepted at those locations.
