A 31-year-old homeless man was lodged in the Bergen County Jail after authorities said he attacked a 61-year-old woman leaving her with a brain bleed and other injuries over the weekend in Englewood, police said.
The victim, a 61-year-old Englewood resident was on her way to work when she was attacked by Kemarley McIntosh, a former city resident, at Forest Avenue and Overpeck Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, Englewood Police Lt. Fred Pulice said. The two were complete strangers, police said.

A driver from Philadelphia who'd just crashed his car off Route 17 before dawn Friday banged on a nearby resident's door, shouting incoherently, and was arrested moments later, authorities said.
Bret Michaels Staab, 41, crashed his 2022 Nissan Sentra on Manhattan Avenue in Waldwick, then abandoned it there, shortly after 6:30 a.m. Jan. 12, Police Lt. Troy E. Seifert said.

A rehab patient hit a Rochelle Park police officer in the head with his wheelchair's foot rest, causing an injury, during a disturbance at a local nursing facility, authorities said.
Officers responding to an 8:30 p.m. call Monday of a patient behaving erratically at Alaris Health Facility North tried to calm Michael Malia, 38, of Bloomfield so he could be taken to a hospital, Police Lt. James DePreta said.

An Elmwood Park man who was pummeling both of his parents when police kicked in his front door turned on the officers – kicking and spitting on them while claiming he had the coronavirus, authorities said.
His mother was trying to dial 911 when Slava Pozniakov, 49, snatched the phone and began punching her, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
