A chase ended on the George Washington Bridge with the arrests of three Serbian immigrants who police said made off with two fur coats — worth $90,000 — from a shop on Route 17 in Paramus.
Their minivan, bearing Florida plates, wasn’t difficult to spot. Inside, Fort Lee police found two fur coats, the tags and sensors still attached.
A clerk at Steven Corn Furs called police and said one of the accused thieves, accompanied by another, had walked out of the store with a fur coat under his jacket, Paramus Police Chief Richard J. Cary said.
The store manager and another employee chased them into the parking lot, but the thief smacked both of them, got into a silver minivan with the woman, and they sped off, the chief said.
Meanwhile, employees kept another woman, later charged as an accomplice, in the store, he said.
Paramus police then brought the store employees to the bridge, where they identified the occupants as the thieves, Cary said.
Arrested were mini-van occupants Milutin Jovanovic, 47, and Danijela Pranjic, 31, both of Astoria, and Nenad Teodosic, 39, of the Serbian capital of Belgrade.
Also arrested was 35-year-old Jelena Sekularac-Radulovich, of East 7th Street in downtown Manhattan, who was still in the store, the chief said.
