Full Circle For NJ Army General In New Role Helming Crucial Reserve Unit
The U.S. Army's Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey was the first place Kris Belanger first stepped foot when she enlisted in the Army.
Now, she's one of the people running the show there.
Belanger is the new commanding general of nearly 45,000 Army Reserve soldiers in the Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division, headquartered on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
"On July 27, 1986, I stepped foot on these grounds for the first time," said Belanger, a Wantage native, during a change-of-command ceremony on Friday, Aug. 11. "Today, I came full circle.”

UPDATE: A dump truck driver who caused a crash that killed a 1-year-old girl and seriously injured her mother on Route 3 in Clifton last summer was indicted on aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide charges.
The indictment returned by a grand jury in Paterson also charges Chad Hines, 41, of Wantage with two counts of death by auto, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said.
Hines remained jailed pending an arraignment on the indictment, Valdes said Monday.

A 26-year-old Wantage man was killed after he struck the back of a parked construction vehicle on Route 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Monday night, state police said.
Frank Orlando Jr., 26, of Wantage was driving a Chevy pickup truck when he struck the back of an international construction truck driven by Salvatore Fucci, 57, of Manchester on Route 80 near mile marker 46.3 just after 8:30 p.m., Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice.

A Wantage man faces three years behind bars after he admitted to making heroin in his home for distribution, reports say.
Anthony Cimbaro, 64, appeared for his virtual sentencing April 23 with his lawyer, Thomas Militano, as well as Assistant Prosecutor Jerome Neidhardt, NJHerald reports.
Though Cimbaro was first indicted on 10 counts, he pleaded guilty to third-degree manufacturing/distributing a controlled dangerous substance and had the rest of the charges dismissed as part of his plea deal, reports say.

Convicted Pennsylvania Killer Charged In Sussex County Burglaries
A man convicted of killing his girlfriend in 2017 is now facing charges from unrelated and prior incidents in Sussex County, the New Jersey Herald reports.
Sky McDonough, 28, of Milford, PA is currently serving a maximum of 42.5 years in a medium-security prison for murdering Leanna Walker, 17, burning the body and burying the remains on a llama farm, the report says.
McDonough is accused of burglarizing two homes in Wantage on Feb. 23, 2016, before fleeing on foot on Route 650, the Herald reports.
He was eventually arrested in Milford on April 25, 2017.
