Longtime Parsippany Resident Dies After Year-Long Cancer Battle, 37
Longtime Parsippany resident and Mary Luz Londono Amaya died after a year-long cancer battle at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville on Friday, March 18. She was 37.
Born in Medellin, Colombia, Mary immigrated to South Carolina in 2000 before settling in Lake Hiawatha last year, her obituary says.
Mary worked as a housekeeper at Sussex County Community College in Newton, her memorial says.
She graduated from Denville High School, according to her Facebook page.

The owner of several South Jersey ShopRite stores and a pastor from Bayonne are among the 1,700 coronavirus deaths in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Thursday as cases climbed to 51,027
"The number of cases by county are doubling," the governor said.

A medical malpractice settlement of more than $1.2 million has been reached nearly four years after the cancer-related death of a Franklin woman, NJ.com reports.
Dina Wyckoff, formerly of Pompton Lakes and Pequannock, died in August 2016 at the age of 34 following a battle with stage IV stomach cancer, her obituary says.
A lawsuit was filed by her husband, Robert Wyckoff, approximately six months later, stating that numerous medical professionals failed to provide proper diagnosis and treatment, the NJ.com article says.
