Bloomfield Police Nab Accused Porch Pirate From East Orange Authorities in Bloomfield nabbed a 27-year-old man who they say stole packages from two local homes. Cesar Pagan Torres, of East Orange, was arrested on May 19 in connection with the incidents, Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. A Chester Avenue (Bloomfield) resident saw a man take a package from his front porch via surveillance video on May 18 around 6:45 p.m., DeMaio said. Jennifer Gaguancela 21, of Bloomfield and Savanah Diaz 20, of Newark went through self checkout and rang up $84 worth of items at the Franklin Street store on May 5, Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. Know HIM? Bloomfield Police Seek Thief Who Ransacked Cars Police in Bloomfield are seeking a man they say ransacked several vehicles and stole several items from them. The vehicle owners had parked their cars on Warren Street between Oct. 26 and 27, Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. When they woke up, their cars had been ransacked. The thief took spare change registration cards and insurance cards. This incident is under investigation.

NJ Dominos Pizza Delivery Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint A pizza delivery driver was carjacked at gunpoint in Essex County, authorities said. The Dominos driver was approached from behind by an unknown individual, who placed a hard object believed to be a handgun to his back and demanded the vehicle on Ella Street in Bloomfield on Sept. 25, Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. The suspect fled on Ella Street and went east on Bloomfield Avenue.  The car was recovered the following day around 1:20 a.m., in Newark. The incident remains under investigation.

'Cops In Crosswalks' Enforcement In Bloomfield This Month Caution: that pedestrian you fail to yield to may be a police officer.  Police in Bloomfield this month are focusing on drivers who don't stop for people in crosswalks. Undercover officers will pose as pedestrians at dozens of crosswalks and will notify officers in patrol cars when motorists fail to yield.  Under state law, drivers must come to a complete stop for people using a crosswalk.
