Man Fatally Struck By Train In Summit, Trains Delayed 60 Minutes: Authorities
A man was fatally struck by a train at the Summit Station on the afternoon of Monday, July 24, NJ Transit officials said. At 1:20 p.m., a Morris and Essex line train en route to Hoboken fatally struck the man, whose name has not been identified, officials said. There were no injuries to the 45 customers or crew on board, officials said. Train traffic on the Morris and Essex line is currently suspended in both directions with delays in the area of approximately 60 minutes, officials said. Abused, Neglected 'Lucky' Rescued By Local Police, Animal Welfare Center In NJ
An abused and neglected dog found by police investigating a crime on Christmas Eve is fortunate to be alive. So his adoptive name makes perfect sense. Officers from Irvington found the dog they named Lucky so severely injured that a leg had to be amputated. Teen Driver Dead, Passenger Critical In Crash Of Stolen Car On Interstate 280
A teenage driver died his passenger injured was seriously injured in a crash involving stolen vehicle on Interstate 280 Sunday, authorities said. The Huyndai Genesis had been reported stolen out of Madison and struck a Honda Pilot on the westbound side near milepost 9.8 in West Orange around 1:15 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. The Genesis then overturned and struck the concrete center median barrier, ejecting both the driver and passenger, Peele said. Beloved Madison High School science teacher Jennifer Freeman died at home Saturday after a long battle with cancer. Freeman worked at the school for 19 years teaching environmental science and physics, Principal David Drechsel said in a letter sent to parents.
