Now people in Essex County are coming together to assist her and her family. Truer, a triathlete, will need surgery, said her friend Jonathan Tabuzo, a Bloomfield native, who organized a GoFundMe fundraiser. Authorities Probe Bomb Threat At Newark High School Police and fire departments rushed to a high school in Newark Tuesday morning, where a bomb threat was allegedly called in, authorities said.  The threat was made at Science Park High School (260 Norfolk St.) just after 11 a.m., a Newark Dept. of Public Safety spokesperson told Daily Voice. Essex County canine detection units were also called to the scene. No explosives were located, and no injuries had been reported, authorities said. The incident remained under investigation.

Authorities ID Man Shot Dead In East Orange Authorities have identified a man who was shot dead in East Orange last weekend. Troy Traynham, 59, was shot outside his Chestnut Street apartment on Saturday, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi. Traynham was taken to University Hospital where he died. No arrests have been made in the deadly shooting. Longtime Turtle Back Zoo Volunteer From Belleville Honored A plaque has been installed at Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange honoring a longtime volunteer docent who died early this year.  Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo was on hand Friday to dedicate the plaque to John P. Doeffinger, a lifelong resident of Belleville. The body was discovered on West Runyon Street around noon, Chief Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly said.
