Gunman Sought In Deadly Newark Shooting Of South Jersey Man, 34

Police in Newark are seeking the gunman who shot and killed a 34-year-old South Jersey man Monday.

Anthony M. McGriff of Lawrenceville (Mercer County) was shot on the 100 block of Prince Street around 4:25 p.m. April 12, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephen, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said.

He was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:08 p.m.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday. The investigation is active and ongoing.
