Auditions were way back in early January, and the students performed almost daily, a news release noted. Based on the movie "Legally Blonde," the musical follows Elle Woods' transformation, as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal as she pursues her dreams.

Approximately 45 students participated, ranging from 14 to 18. The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC partnered with these students, from Dwight Morrow High School & Academies at Englewood. By working with the Performing Arts School, students had the opportunity to work directly with industry professionals.

Demetrious Lara -- who played Professor Callahan -- is fulfilling his senior experience internship at bergenPAC and its Performing Arts School.

"My experience on the show was really interesting," Tyler Jewel Hampton said. "It was my first ever musical theater performance and it honestly went great. I was surrounded by awesome and talented people."

Student-actor Eugene Brown also found his niche. "The crowd hated me which means I did my job as an actor," he said. "Thank you bergenPAC for being the perfect platform to showcase my talent."

Gisselly Peralta added, "It was so much fun and a great experience, and the cast became like a second family which I missed right after the show was over."
