Jesus Manuel Garcia of the Bronx was airlifted to a local hospital after plunging through an unmarked opening in the roof at the former site of the Ledgewood Mall on Route 10 on Feb. 1, 2020. He went into cardiac arrest but survived the fall with life-threatening injuries after landing on a concrete slab, authorities said at the time. Muniz, of Millville, was sentenced Friday, June 24 on the aggravated assault charge in the February 2021 incident that left the 4-year-old child fighting for her life on a ventilator, NJ Advance Media reported.  Muniz's boyfriend, Ricardo A. The next, the Newark girl was having a seizure — and then in cardiac arrest. Doctors aren't sure what caused the Oct. 7, 2021 seizure or heart attack, which left little Alayah brain-damaged and wheelchair-bound. To make matters worse, her mom Leah Butler, lost her job and is caring for her around the clock.
