Driver Arrested In Hit-Run Crash That Left 10-Year-Old Girl Critical: Police

A 28-year-old driver has been arrested in an alleged hit-and-run crash, authorities said.

The crash in Bridgeton left a 10-year-old girl in critical condition, they said.

Sierra A. Thomas, of Bridgeport, was charged Thursday, May 11 with knowingly leaving a motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious injury and endangering an injured victim, police said.

The girl was hit by an SUV as she crossed East Broad Street on her way to Wawa at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, police said.

She was struck by a white SUV, pictured above, that fled.

The girl was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital.

The SUV went north on Bank Street Extension heading toward East Commerce Street, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
