Firefighters Douse Intense Attic Blaze In Garfield
Firefighters in Garfield contained an intense attic blaze that severely damaged a single-family home. They got there quickly after smoke was reported coming out an attic window of the two-story, wood-frame home on Bergen Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. It took barely a half-hour for the firefighters to knock it down. No injuries were reported. GARFIELD FD Wallington firefighters assisted. Firefighters Douse Blaze In Rutherford Home Under Renovation
Firefighters in Rutherford quickly extinguished an attic fire Monday night. The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. in a single-family Victorian home being renovated at Mountain Way and Windsor Place, the department said. It instantly went to two alarms, with fire in the walls of the 2½-story, wood-frame home. Firefighters had the blaze under control within a half hour. No injuries were reported. Fire Chief Dennis Gentile was the incident commander. His squad was assisted by firefighters from East Rutherford and Wallington.

: Dogs Rescued After Lightning Strike Ignites Attic Fire In Ridgewood
Three dogs were rescued after lightning struck a Ridgewood home Tuesday afternoon, igniting an attic fire. Ridgewood, Waldwick and Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters were among the responders to the Victorian home on Hillcrest Road following the strike just before 3:30 p.m. No serious injuries were immediately reported. No Injuries Reported In Wood-Ridge Attic Fire
WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- No injuries were reported in an attic fire Wednesday night in Wood-Ridge. Firefighters had to cut through the roof to get at the Helm Avenue blaze, which was quickly extinguished. They were joined by their colleagues from East Rutherford and Wallington. The two residents who live there weren't home, responders said.
